As a group of international school students, we wanted to incorporate our diversity into a meaningful name.
Menstruation in English is commonly called "period".
In Korean, it is referred to as "magic" (마법).
Magic in Nepali is जादू,(Jādū).
जादू (Jādū) is the same pronunciation of "plum" in Korean.
Our name is inspired the acronym 'Please Learn and Understand Menstruation'

Cloth pads provide multiple benefits over commercial pads. Some of which are:
- They do not contain any chemicals that can cause gynecological problems.
- They are reusable for about five years and allow women who do not have access to stores that sell pads to also be able to use pads.
- Finally, cloth pads are beneficial for the environment, as they take much less time to biodegrade compared to plastic pads which take many years to biodegrade.
PLUM encourages for chapters to be open worldwide, and if you would like to open new PLUM Clubs in different schools we would be more than happy to assist this process.
